A guide to using a health promotion approach to problem gambling has been developed for Gambler's Help services, Primary Care Partnerships and others working to reduce gambling-related harm in Victoria.
The guide explains a common framework for planning, implementation and evaluation of problem gambling integrated health promotion initiatives, and includes a range of case studies showing emerging practice.
In Victoria, the term ‘integrated health promotion’ refers to agencies and organisations from a wide range of sectors and communities in a catchment working in a collaborative manner using a mix of health promotion interventions and capacity building strategies to address priority health and wellbeing issues.
The Department of Human Services’ Integrated health promotion resource kit is a guide to planning, delivering and evaluating integrated health promotion activities and initiatives. The Department of Health also publishes a range of resources to support health promotion in Victoria.
